More Info
Australian, Andrew Michael Bogut was born on November 28, 1984. A forward / center basketball player, in the 2005 NBA draft Bogut was drafted first overall by the Milwaukee Bucks. With this draft pick, the Milwaukee Bucks made Bogut the first Australian to be picked as such.

While attending college in the United States at Utah, Bogut was named Freshman of the Year. Almost averaging a double-double over the course of a season will help earn that title. After the 2004-2005 NCAA season, Andrew Bogut won several national individual awards including Player of the Year from the AP and ESPN.com.

Bogut’s rookie season with the Milwaukee Bucks ended successfully, with him landing third in the vote-getting for Rookie of the Year nods. The second season Bogut played for the Milwaukee Bucks was cut short due to a left foot injury. Prior to this injury however, fans continued to see improvements in Bogut’s play. He is known to be a good shooter, very good rebounder and even better at spreading out the ball; averaging 3.0 assists per game.

Career highs for Andrew Bogut include 27 points scored in a January 2007 game against the Charlotte Bobcats and 24 rebounds in a January 2007 game against the Philadelphia 76ers.

In the midst of a solid 2008 season, Andrew Bogut injured his back. Doctors had hoped that his healing time would be short. He came back quickly, only to find himself on the sidelines for most of January and February. By the first week of April, Bogut found himself out for the remainder of the season.

The rehab went well. Andrew Bogut will be ready to play the regular season opener, and training camp.
