Awvee Storey born April 18, 1977 is from Chicago and played his freshman basketball season at the University of Illinois before transferring to Arizona State University. Storey was one of the top rebounders in the Pac-10, averaging 9.7 rebounds per game. During his junior season (2000-01) Storey earned honorable mention All-Pac-10 in 2001 after posting career-highs in points (13.1) and rebounds (9.1). He also posted five straight double-figure rebounding games during that time. He graduated with his Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies degree with concentrations in communications and sociology at ASU.
Though Storey was not chosen in the NBA Draft, the New Jersey Nets signed him, for the 2004-05 season. In October 2005, Storey signed with the Washington Wizards and played 25 games with them during the 2005-06. Storey has also played for various foreign teams including the Wonju TG Sambo Xers of the Korean League. During this time he helped them go to the 2005 KBL championship.
Awvee was a member of the Bucks 2007 Las Vegas Summer League Team, where he maintained averages of 11.0 points and 4.2 rebounds over five games. On August 7, 2007 the Milwaukee Bucks announced the signing of Storey for a multi-year contract.
Awvee Storey playe in 26 games in the 2008 season. He averaged ten minutes per game, and in that span scored 3.5 points per.
By October of 2008, Storey was waived from the New Jersey Nets, as he signed a non-guaranteed contract at the end of that year. He now plays for the New Zealand Breakers.
