A native of Buffalo New York, Bob Lanier could feel right at home in Milwaukee. This blustery lakeside city enjoyed having Lanier on the Bucks squad. Before that, he played college ball at St. Bonaventure. That team made it to the final four. Bob was injured prior to that final game.

This number one draft was picked by the Detroit Pistons. His impact was immediate, and he was named to the All Rookie team. In 1980, he was traded to Milwaukee. For the next five years, Milwaukee won their divisional title.

While playing in Milwaukee, Bob Lanier averaged over twenty points per game, coupled with over ten rebounds. He amassed nearly twenty-thousand points in his career. He played a total of 14 seasons in the NBA.
