More Info
Bobby Simmons was born June 2, 1980 in Chicago and played three years of college basketball for DePaul University.
Simmons was selected in the second round of the 2001 NBA Draft by the Seattle SuperSonics, but his draft rights were traded to the Washington Wizards for Predrag Drobnjak in June 2001. The following year in Sept. 2002, the Wizards traded Simmons to the Detroit Pistons. He was released by the Pistons that same month and, less than two weeks later, signed with the Wizards again in October. In Sept. 2003, Simmons signed a free agent contract with the Los Angeles Clippers.
During the 2004-05 NBA season with the Los Angeles Clippers, Simmons averaged a career-high 16.4 points per game. Because of his performance that season, he was awarded the 2004-05 NBA Most Improved Player.
He signed a free agent contract with the Milwaukee Bucks on August 8, 2005 shortly after a new collective bargaining agreement was finalized. In 2006, an ankle injury forced him to miss the entire 2006-07 season.
