More Info
Michael Redd, Milwaukee’s key shooting guard was drafted by the Bucks in 2000. He has played in Milwaukee for his entire NBA career.
Coming from Ohio State, Redd was part of a Final Four team as a sophomore. During his college career, his scoring average was 22 points per game. It took a few years to get a starting position, but he impressed George Karl, and moved past Ray Allen. Dallas came to court Redd in 2002, but the Bucks matched the offer, and he stayed in Milwaukee.
By 2003, Redd made the NBA All Star team. His 22 point average for that season sure helped bring him into the spotlight. The Bucks locked him up with a 90+ million dollar contract going through the 2011 season.
Redd's knee injury came at game 33 of the 2008 season. At that time, he was managing 36 minutes per game. This 21 point-per-game starter was badly needed in the Milwaukee Bucks lineup. The Buck's playoff hopes fizzled after Redd was benched for the rest of the year.
