More Info
Probably the most heralded Bucks player in recent memory, Ray Allen played with the Bucks for seven years before being traded along with Ronald Murray to the Seattle Supersonics for Gary Payton and Desmond Mason midway through the 2002-03 season.

The Bucks acquired Allen in a draft day trade with the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for Stephon Marbury. Allen had a decorated college career at UConn, one in which he achieved All-American honors and was named Big East player of the year in his junior season.

The accolades didn’t stop in his transition to the NBA. In his Rookie season Allen was named to the All-Rookie 2nd Team. In the following years Allen would be on his way to becoming one of the top shooting guards in the NBA, and also become known as one of the best pure shooters in the league.

His Progress as a player didn’t go unnoticed as he was named to the Men’s U.S. Olympic team in 2000 that won the gold medal. Allen was also part of the “Big Three” that led the Bucks to the Eastern Conference Finals under then coach George Karl. During his time with the

Bucks Allen made a name for himself off the court as well, starring alongside Denzel Washington in “He Got Game” in 1998 and later starring in “Harvard Man” in 2001. There are many possible reasons for Allen’s departure from Milwaukee. The Bucks had a strong shooting guard waiting in the wings in Michael Redd and there was also speculation of dysfunction among Milwaukee’s “Big Three”.
